Communicating with Patients
Communication with friends and loved ones outside the hospital is an essential part of any patient’s recovery. We offer several options that allow you to keep in contact with your family and friends to ensure the best recovery possible.
Communicating by Phone
Calls To Your Hospital Room
Most patient rooms have a bedside phone. Your extension is the same as your room number. Callers should phone the hospital operator at 773-702-1220 and request your extension.
Calls From Your Hospital Room
To reach hospital personnel or services, call the operator at 2-1220 for assistance. Calls within Chicago and nearby suburbs are free. For details on making an outside phone call, see the information on the patient's bedside telephone.
