Pharmacy Services
The pharmacy team works with UChicago Medicine physicians to provide patients with the safest and most effective care. On a regular basis, pharmacists will keep close watch of lab tests and stay in contact with the physician to let them know of any questions or concerns a patient may have about their medication.
Our pharmacists will provide education about medication and are here during business hours to answer any questions.
If you have any questions about your medication, call 773-834-8000 to speak with a pharmacist.
Financial Assistance and Billing
Pharmacy staff will work with our team to get prior authorization from the insurance company and will enroll patients in any program that may help with co-pays.
Our medication access coordinator can help with co-pay card or grant foundation program enrollment. They also help with free drug program enrollment if a patient cannot afford their medication or has lost their insurance. We also have a specialty pharmacy billing representative who will apply these funds to a patient’s bill for them.
UChicago Medicine is a not-for-profit hospital and we offer discounted care if a patient cannot afford infusion costs. Our infusion team will always let patients know the cost of their medication. We are proud to do all we can for patients so they can get the medication they need.
For questions about financial assistance or billing, call 773-834-8000.
Providing a High-Level of Quality
UChicago Medicine received the prestigious Magnet Recognition® Program designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center for excellence in nursing and patient care. All pharmacists and nurses are certified for USP 797 sterile compounding through Aseptic Testing Solutions training and examination, which is a guarantee that your medication is made safely.
These achievements recognize that our infusion centers operate at a high-level of quality, integrity and effectiveness.
