UChicago Faculty Physicians hold faculty positions with the University of Chicago and provide care for patients on the academic health system’s main campus in Hyde Park and in care centers throughout the Chicago region.

Julia Rosebush, DO, FAAP, currently serves as the Medical Director of Care2Prevent (C2P), the University of Chicago’s Pediatric and Adolescent HIV Program. C2P is the largest provider of pediatric HIV care on the South Side of Chicago, serving nearly 800 individuals each year. Under Dr. Rosebush’s leadership, the program has steadily expanded to provide comprehensive clinical care, supportive services, and prevention efforts to South Chicago’s most vulnerable youth and is steadily working to increase network recruitment for HIV/STI testing in addition to the uptake of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV-1 prevention.

Dr. Rosebush’s primary clinical and academic interests focus on HIV-1 specifically as it relates to the management of multidrug resistant infections, STI co-infection, and the biopsychosocial aspects of prevention. She has a particular passion for issues related to adolescent and young adult health. She serves as site PI for a number of studies within the PHACS and IMPAACT networks of the NIH and was recently named as a member of the IMPAACT 2007 protocol team. Additionally, she is highly involved with medical education both clinically and administratively as Program Director for the Pediatric Infectious Diseases training program with a particular interest in leadership development amongst trainees.

Dr. Rosebush completed her medical training at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and her pediatrics residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital at The Ohio State University. Subsequently, she worked with the Baylor International Pediatric AIDS Initiative in Botswana before returning to the U.S. to complete a fellowship in infectious diseases at Emory University.
