Phillip H. Yun, MD, specializes in nonsurgical sports medicine, evaluating and treating athletes and active adults with musculoskeletal injuries. He has expertise in a wide range of sports and exercise medicine problems, including ligament tears, tendinitis/tendinopathy, muscle tears and strains, bone stress fractures, sports-related concussions, and joint pain.
In addition to comprehensive treatments, Dr. Yun is an advocate for sports injury prevention and is dedicated to getting his patients back to their active lifestyles as quickly and safely as possible. He develops a personalized treatment plan for each patient, incorporating their goals and preferences into the approach. He also has extensive training in musculoskeletal ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures, which he performs in clinic. Ultimately, Dr. Yun's goal is to help his patients achieve optimal health and wellness, both on and off the field.
Along with his clinical dedication, Dr. Yun is active in teaching medical students, residents and fellows. He is passionate about medical education and is one of the contributing authors for “Sideline Management in Sports,” a comprehensive reference guide for team physicians. He is one of the team physicians for the WNBA Chicago Sky professional basketball team.
