The Liver Disease Virtual Roundtable is an educational series for health care professionals. It began in 2016, and it is headed by Andrew Aronsohn, MD, Director of Telehealth for the University of Chicago Medicine Digestive Diseases.

This program is dedicated to sharing information about liver disease — including viral hepatitis, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), complications of cirrhosis, liver transplantation and liver tumors — with colleagues and physicians in the field. UChicago Medicine's Center for Liver Diseases and Transplant Institute applies the latest research to care for medically complex patients with new surgical techniques, opportunities for expanded indications for liver transplant as well as medical therapy with clinical trials.

The Liver Case Roundtable program brings this knowledge to physicians around the world who can use this monthly session to share their own patient care questions and experiences. Physicians can consult with our UChicago Medicine liver team to determine the best course for their patients’ wellness. We welcome presentations from community-based practices as well as academic centers as points of discussion not only to offer recommendations in care for individual patients, but also, to create an effective learning environment for all participants.

Who can attend these sessions?

These sessions are open to any interested physicians, nurses, student, residents, fellows or allied health professionals interested in learning more about these topics. Our sessions cannot accommodate patient participants at this time.
