Titus Daniels named CMO for Community Health and Hospital Division
Titus Daniels, MD, has been named chief medical officer for the University of Chicago Medicine’s Community Health and Hospital Division (CHHD).
Kenneth Nunes, MD, will succeed him immediately as chief ambulatory medical officer for UChicago Medicine.
In his new role for the CHHD, Daniels will support the continued integration of Ingalls Memorial into UChicago Medicine. He will collaborate with Perry Gilbert, MD, chief medical officer for Ingalls Memorial, to achieve clinical excellence and to better coordinate care for patients in the communities served by the academic health system.
"The CHHD was created in 2016 to help community hospitals that join UChicago Medicine remain an important pillar of the communities in which they operate and serve," said Kenneth S. Polonsky, MD, executive vice president for medical affairs at the University of Chicago. "Both Drs. Daniels and Nunes will further advance the ambulatory strategy for our health system and continue to improve patient access to all the services and care we provide across the region."
Daniels joined UChicago Medicine in March 2017 as its first chief ambulatory medical officer, providing clinical oversight for primary and specialty care services and identifying growth opportunities across UChicago Medicine’s expanding footprint, including the multispecialty outpatient centers in Orland Park and South Loop.
Nunes, who assumes the role of chief ambulatory medical officer, has held a variety of leadership roles at UChicago Medicine. Most recently, he served as section chief of general obstetrics and gynecology at UChicago Medicine and chief medical officer for obstetrics and gynecology at Ingalls Memorial.
