Noted legal and medical experts debate whether current national policy toward the pharmaceutical industry serves the best health interests of Americans at the second annual Chicago Health Forum, titled "Prescription Drugs for All."
Who
Dr. Arnold Relman, Editor-in-Chief Emeritus, New England Journal of Medicine and Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Social Medicine, Harvard Medical School. Relman is a distinguished physician who has written widely on the economic, ethical, legal, and social aspects of health care. He is the author of When More Is Less: The Paradox of American Health Care and How to Resolve It.
Prof. Richard Epstein, James Parker Hall Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago Law School and Senior Fellow, MacLean Center for Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago. Epstein, one of the preeminent libertarian scholars, is among the most provocative, controversial and influential legal theorists in the U.S. He is the author of Mortal Peril: Our Inalienable Right to Health Care, among many other books.
Moderator: Dr. Mark Siegler, Lindy Bergman Professor and Director, MacLean Center for Medical Ethics at the University of Chicago. Siegler's most recent book is Clinical Ethics: A Practical Approach to Ethical Decision Making in Clinical Medicine.
