Yangfeifei Gao, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in neuropsychology with expertise in evaluating children and young adults with neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorder. Dr. Gao sees a wide range of children with cognitive and behavioral function concerns, such as language, social cognition, attention and memory issues. She also helps patients struggling with complex medical conditions, including genetic syndromes, epilepsy and acquired brain injuries.
Dr. Gao is dedicated to improving the lives of children through compassionate care and evidence-based practices. She also works closely with the families to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses the unique needs of each child.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Gao focuses on using research to improve the understanding of brain-behavior relationships, ultimately leading to more effective treatments for young patients. Through her research, Dr. Gao examines behavioral, functional and anatomical presentations of developmental and psychiatric disorders using neuroimaging and statistical modeling approaches. Her work has been published in several highly respected journals, including Autism Research, Cerebral Cortex and Journal of American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
