Pulmonary Conditions We Treat

At Comer Children's we diagnose and manage a wide variety of pulmonary problems. We also provide ongoing care for children who require chronic ventilator support at home, such as those with muscular dystrophy or spinal cord injuries.​

Asthma Care

Comprehensive, team-based care is available for patients of all ages through the University of Chicago Medicine Asthma Center. The center's community of asthma experts works together on research, education and clinical care to offer solutions to the growing problem of asthma, particularly among children in urban neighborhoods.

Cystic Fibrosis Center

UChicago Medicine is home to a dedicated Cystic Fibrosis Center, fully accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Here, a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals coordinates treatment of this complex genetic disorder to minimize its effect on a child's lungs and nutritional health.
