Dedicated to Treating Esophageal Diseases

As one of the few centers in the U.S. concentrated solely on esophageal diseases, the University of Chicago Medicine Center for Esophageal Diseases brings together nationally and internationally recognized clinicians and researchers in a variety of related disciplines to provide patients with comprehensive care.

Our team includes specialists with extensive experience in diagnosing and treating the full spectrum of disorders of the esophagus, from achalasia and other swallowing or motility disorders, to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Barrett’s esophagus and esophageal cancers.

Our team of gastroenterologists works closely with our surgeons, interventional endoscopists, oncologists, pulmonologists, pathologists and specially trained registered nurses to coordinate all aspects care, from common conditions to the most complex esophageal disorders. Our approach is both personalized and collaborative, and our outcomes are considered a model for outstanding patient care.
